Well I suspect she's thinking about her purpose maybe, or she's just figured it out by the slight smile on her lips. Probably not a big worrier or feels the need to be cautious or fear much. She has some sort of pride or her lips wouldn't be painted I suppose...
Anyway. I really love this picture and the details!

I think the lipstick would suggest female, but I think this could also represent a beautiful boy elf also. The darkened background might suggest evil, but the white crystalline flecks of light hint at purity or a self realizing journey of some sort.

Am I close at all? Either way, I love it. Truly beautiful.
